News: Morning Rotary Supports the Community

March 15, 2009

The Fond du Lac Morning Rotary Club has contributed $6,000 to local community organizations - The Arc of Fond du Lac, The Boys and Girls Club, and The Solution Center. Accepting $2,000 for The Arc of Fond du Lac was Lindee Kimball. Accepting $2,000 for the Boys and Girls Club was Stan Kocos. Accepting $2,000 for The Solution Center was Jennifer Dilling.

Presentations were made at the Rotary Club’s Thursday morning breakfast meeting by Sam Barnhart and Tom Will, Co-Chairs of the club’s Wine Around the World fund raising event, held January 24, 2009. Contributions were made in recognition of the outstanding efforts of these three organizations to assist persons in making a better life and make Fond du Lac a better community.

The Arc of Fond du Lac helps persons with developmental disabilities lead full and productive lives. The Boys and Girls Club provides services to area youth in developing their potential, paying special attention to youth at risk. The Solution Center provides women with support throughout the complex process of leaving violent relationships and building safe futures.

Money was raised at the Club’s Annual Wine Around the World event recently held at the University of Wisconsin Fond du Lac. The event featuring a variety of wines and dining on delicious hors d’oeuvres, was attended by over 200.

The Morning Rotary Club is a service organization committed to the value of “Service Above Self.” Each year, the club raises money through events such as Wine Around the World and Walleye Weekend, to support worthy causes that help make Fond du Lac a better community.
