News: Morning Rotary hosts visitors from India
April 27, 2009
The Fond du Lac Morning Rotary recently hosted a delegation from India as part of its international outreach initiative.
The group included five professionals: Sivaraman Sivaraman, from the field of waste-water treatment education; Aarti C. Rajaratnan, education consulting/psychology; Lavanya Senthil, human resources; Ramamamann Sujatha computer science/K-12 education; and Selvaperumal Arumugam, microbiology.
“The Rotary Foundations Group Study Exchange program is a unique cultural and vocational exchange opportunity for business people and professionals between the ages of 25 and 40 who are in the early stages of their careers,” said Dave Jones, Fond du Lac Morning Rotary spokesman, in a press release.
The program provides travel grants for teams to exchange visits in paired areas of different countries.
For four to six weeks, team members experience a host country’s culture and institutions, observe how their vocations are practiced abroad, develop personal and professional relationships, and exchange ideas, he said.
The delegation visited Pier School, Marian University, Moraine Park Technical College, Consultants Laboratory, Fond du Lac Area Association of Commerce, Fond du Lac County Health Care Center, CD Smith Construction and the offices of Doll and Associates, with a presentation by Dr. Darold Treffert.
The visitors stayed with Jim and Rosie Neumann, Jerry and Karla Donahue, and Mike and Barb Senn.
They are now in Sheboygan, said Rotary member Sharon Holmes.
